Mistress

Went to the Lowry on Saturday evening to watch Joanna Trollope's "Marrying the Mistress". Arrived just in time - out of breath. Satnav did not know of the Lowry's postcode. I had little expectation of being entertained and thought I might snooze for a couple of hours. Therese wanted to see this as she has read several of Joanna's books including this one. However, had no chance for forty winks - I found it fastpaced, witty and very easy to follow.

The story is about a cad that runs off with a PYT. Joanna turns the plot around by making you gradually turn against the spurned wife ( and grandmother) who is self obsessed and manipulative.

The use of sections of the scenery wheeled in and out on casters made the play visually interesting.
