King Prawn Risotto

2 Medium onions. Chopped finely.
Olive oil
Garlic - 2 cloves crushed
400g King Prawns Raw with shells removed
50ml White wine
Carnaroli Rice 250g
Bouillon Stock Cube with 800Ml boiling water
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan on a medium heat. Fry the Onion for about 3 minutes add the garlic and cook for another minute. Add the rice and stir constantly for another 2 minutes.
Turn the heat to low and add the stock a laddleful at a time waiting for it to be absorbed before adding more stock. Add the Prawns with the last laddleful of stock. Cook for a further 5 minutes. The rice should have cooked for 20mins for the stock to have gone and the rice should be creamy in consistency.
Mistress

Went to the Lowry on Saturday evening to watch Joanna Trollope's "Marrying the Mistress". Arrived just in time - out of breath. Satnav did not know of the Lowry's postcode. I had little expectation of being entertained and thought I might snooze for a couple of hours. Therese wanted to see this as she has read several of Joanna's books including this one. However, had no chance for forty winks - I found it fastpaced, witty and very easy to follow.

The story is about a cad that runs off with a PYT. Joanna turns the plot around by making you gradually turn against the spurned wife ( and grandmother) who is self obsessed and manipulative.
The use of sections of the scenery wheeled in and out on casters made the play visually interesting.

Roulade Anonymous

Hana and Neil came to tea on Saturday. Cooked Coq au Vin....didn't turn out as I would have liked. Concentrated on the veg so much that forgot to thicken and taste the sauce. Really disappointed.
Neil brought along a desert that he had made based on Delia's instructions. I have never suffered an addiction to smoking, drink etc but having tasted Neil's roulade I now have a real problem. It was absolutely delicious. I started yesterday as 10st I am now approaching 11st and think it is time I formed roulade anonymous. The kids are fighting over the last portion. I am wondering how to get my next fix. Invite them over again, ask politely if they do takeaways or just get a sawn off shotgun and demand another slice.
Covent Garden Curry

Went to London this week and had lunch with Peter. It was his last week. He took us to a dodgy looking place above a market just across the road from Covent Garden. However, the food was excellent.
